A Beach Shack Reinvention

This project showcases a careful and thoughtful update to a traditional Gold Coast beach shack. It highlights our capability to renovate and enhance classic structures while preserving their original charm.

With a design strategy informed by the calming qualities of the Australian landscapes, we successfully integrated indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a serene retreat that respects and complements its coastal surroundings.

Beach Shack Revival

The image depicted here showcases the main living area from our Beach Shack Revival project. A part of this transformation was to seamlessly connect the indoor space with the new outdoor pool area. We achieved this by incorporating large bi-fold doors, allowing for an unobstructed view and easy access to the outdoor amenities.

We introduced more natural light into the living space by installing clerestory windows, a change that necessitated modifying the ceiling and roof pitch. These windows not only bathe the area in sunlight but also enhance the charm of the beach shack style, emphasised by the exposed ceiling beams. We further optimised the living area by facilitating cross-ventilation, ensuring a comfortable, airy environment that resonates with the beachfront lifestyle. Beach Shack Renovation: Combining Tradition with Modern Design

The renovation of this traditional Gold Coast beach shack showcases our capability to enhance and update classic structures while preserving their original charm. A key aspect of this project was the introduction of modern design elements.

The new living room features high clerestory windows above wide, open bifold doors, seamlessly connecting the interior to the exterior. These features, along with the new swimming pool and surrounding timber decking, create a serene retreat that complements and respects its coastal surroundings.

Reviving Coastal Retreat Ambience through Thoughtful Extensions

The extension and renovation of the beach shack master bedroom and ensuite underscore our ability to seamlessly expand the original structure while enhancing its inherent charm.

The design direction for the extension was deeply influenced by the calming and relaxing qualities of coastal retreats. The master bedroom, part of the new extension, presents a peaceful retreat with its high ceilings, exposed beams, and timber accents. The open ensuite, designed with an old-world charm, forms a harmonious part of this tranquil extension.

Beach Shack Renovation: Seamless Integration of New and Old

The hallmark of this beach shack renovation is the seamless integration of the new extension with the original structure.

The extension, housing a new living room, represents a perfect blend of old and new. The exposed ceiling beams and bifold window not only enhance the room's ventilation and connection to the external surroundings, but also pay homage to the charm and simplicity of the original beach shack design.
